Work

Julie Heussner got her start as a kitchen designer over 15 years ago after remodeling her own kitchen. She was so inspired by the design and remodeling process, she decided to pursue it as a career and went to work for the designer who designed her kitchen. What can seem overwhelming for clients is fun for Julie and she still finds excitement in bringing every project to fruition. Her goal is not only to make the process as easy and enjoyable for her clients as her own remodeling experience, but also to help her clients develop a vision for their space and bring that vision to life.

The kitchen is the heart of the home. Regardless of how you use your kitchen, it is the room you spend the most time in and the space should reflect your style and how you live your life. The difference between working with a designer and just buying cabinets is that a designer can redesign the space to function better and tailor the design specifically to an individual’s unique needs. Julie listens closely to her clients’ dreams for their projects and knows the right questions to ask to help make decisions along the way. She spends the time getting know her clients and learning how they use their kitchens so she can design their perfect kitchen – financially, functionally, socially and aesthetically.

Julie is a nationally certified kitchen designer. She has her National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) CKD certification and is a member of the NKBA Fairfield County Chapter. She also graduated with a BFA from Ithaca College. In her free time, Julie enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new restaurants, and swimming, biking, and running.
