When it comes to reading The Wall Street Journal, The Kitchen Company co-owner/designer Gail Bolling flips right to the lifestyle section, where she finds some of her favorite food and drink recipes. Recently she came across this recipe for baked ziti with lamb ragu from chef Josef Centeno, chef/owner of Bäco Mercat & Bar Amá in Los Angeles. It is even more simple, delicious and quick to cook than you can imagine. Pasta, lamb, veggies, three kinds of cheese and plenty of spice make this dish a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
John Fecke, owner of The Kitchen Company, designed this featured kitchen for a historic cottage renovation in Madison, CT. Tucked away from the main road in Madison's historic district, the elegant turn-of-the-century home boasts privacy and a spectacular southerly view of Long Island Sound and the rolling green of the golf course. The kitchen renovation enhanced the view by opening the floor plan to allow for an unobstructed ocean view from nearly anywhere on the first floor. The layout not only makes the kitchen seem larger within the existing space, it is also more welcoming and family-oriented.
Ron Fisher, an experienced design professional at The Kitchen Company, designed this gorgeous kitchen for a home in Woodbridge, CT. The process was a combination of a renovation to the existing kitchen and an addition to enlarge the kitchen and dining space. The open floor plan seamlessly integrates the addition and the existing space by connecting the kitchen, dining area, and family room. The layout makes the area feel much more spacious and welcoming.
